2019 Melissa McFerrin Hoops School Summer Camp Dates Set

Now is the time to for families to start looking for summer activities for their girls, the Melissa McFerrin Hoops School at Memphis is holding its 2019 camps in June.

Coach Melissa McFerrin and her staff are offering three basketball instruction sessions: Team Camp on June 6 and Day Camp from June 17-20.

The following provides a brief synopsis on each camp:

Team Camp

Date: June 6
Site(s): Larry Finch Center and University of Memphis Student Recreation & Fitness Center
Address: 624 Echles Street, Memphis, TN 38152
Fee: $250 per team
Ages: Teams in grades 9-12 (ages 14-18)/Teams 13U or older (varsity, junior varsity, AAU, youth, church, etc.).  Limited only by number, age, grade level and /or gender. 
Time: 8 a.m.-8 p.m. CT/Registration starts at 8 a.m., with games starting at 8:40 a.m.

Teams are guaranteed three games and also have the opportunity to add games customized to their competition needs. In addition, the Melissa McFerrin Hoops School offers a unique "Nerves of Steel" pressure-situation tournament, which is a best-of-five, double-elimination bracket. In the "Nerves of Steel" tournament, teams begin play either up or down one point with 30 seconds left to play.

Day Camp

Fee: $225 (NOTE: $25 additional charge for walk-ups on day of camp; also, 15 percent discount for University employees)
Ages: Girls entering grades 3-9 in fall of 2019 (ages 7-14). Limited only by number, age grade level and /or gender. 
Time: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. CT each day/Registration at 8 a.m. June 20

This camp provides a fun, safe and educational environment for basketball instruction. Each camper will develop individual skills with a focus on fundamentals through station and position work. Those skills will be implemented in game situations. Team concepts will be taught throughout the camps.

Lunch is not provided for campers, so please bring a sack lunch for order pizza with our staff and crew.  Concession stand will be open during all camps.
